Canon 5D Mark II

As my main camera, I use the Canon 5D Mark II, and I really love this camera. I’ve been a Canon user since I started, and usually stays this way since people invest in lenses and gear that fits these cameras as they progress and find their needs develop. This camera has a large full frame sensor, great noise handling and gives me some great large sizes for my landscape shots. A great camera, all in all.

Canon 17-40mm f4.0

This is actually a new family member. I bought this lens used from a local hobby photographer that had bought a complete set, and dropped interest in photography over time. I got this for a steal, and I’m really happy with this lens. It’s a whole stop darker then f2.8, but I’ve come to find that I don’t really need the 16-35 f2.8 lens that almost costs 2-3 times as much as this lens. The quality of the glass i great and stays on my camera as my main lens now since the reach is all the way out to 40mm.

Canon 24-70mm f2.8

This was the lens that came with the Canon 5D Mark II when I bought it used. And a great companion. Great quality lens that has been my main and only lens since I got the 5D body. It’s wide enough for most landscape shots, and narrow zoomed in for those portraits (those two I shot during a whole year, hehe..) But all in all a great lens. Canon has released a version to, or “Mark II” of this lens, but I have not found a reason to upgrade. The cost is too large in comparison to the upgrade itself. Sticking with my trusty buddy!

Canon 50mm f1.4

This is a great lens for portraits and those close shots with amazing bokeh (I guess that’s written right..). It means blurred background, hehe. Anywho, the lens is a steal comparing the price to the quality of the lens. Don’t use the lens all too much, but it’s great to have. Cheap, compact and great quality. Thumbs up!
